Internet Marketing is not rocket science, but it sure ain’t easy either. Despite the promises of countless program owners and gurus all claiming to have the magic answer, there are no short cuts, no magic answers or secret button. Its hard work and if you want me to be brutally honest you are almost damned to fail before you begin.
But that won’t stop you trying, nor should it, because the rewards are phenomenal.
You can take the long road to success by trying and failing at everything like I did, or you can take heed of these lessons that I learned the very hard way.
- Internet Marketing is a cutthroat business. Your most valuable asset is your reputation. This can be damaged irreparably by being involved with one shonky program or product.
- If a program appears to be too good to be true, it undoubtedly is too good to be true. Do your due diligence and ask yourself what it is that you’re selling.
- Real products and services sell – money lines, matrices and other schemes don’t
- Never put the Internet Marketing Cart before the Horse. This is your business your efforts should always be aimed at promoting you first. Get people on your mailing list either by giving away a valuable report or product and then recommend quality products on the back end.
- You simply must have your own domain name, website and follow up system. Not to have these critical branding tools is Internet marketing suicide
- Say away from anything that guarantees you a fixed rate of return. Cyclers, doublers and High Yield Investment programs are Ponzi schemes of the very first order.
- MLM has its place, but the gun MLM marketers actually promote themselves first and recommend MLM programs on the back end. If MLM is attractive to you, find real programs offering real products with a sound history.
- Never blame the advertising resource – they did their job, your ad wasn’t good enough. Test, refine, test again, tweak, test some more, refine some more and when you find something that will work HIT IT HARD.
- Always respond to inquiries.
- Never ever SPAM. Services that promise you that you can email to Millions are selling you a spam service. Never buy leads unless you have really studied how to approach them and have a detailed business plan on what you plan to do.
- Be yourself, be honest with your subscribers and stay true to what you believe in. You can’t be Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern or Mark Dulisse, you have to be yourself. Not every one will like you – that’s their loss and that’s OK. Live with it, move on
- Keep going. Never give up. You only lose when you quit and the prize is worth fighting for.
That covers it for now.
Get to it
